Trailer Tongue Weight
Just like any other tow vehicle, each trailer dolly model has its own maximum tongue weight capacity. This plays an important role when deciding on a trailer dolly or accessory.
We recommend that your tongue weight be 10% of your trailer gross weight (GVWR), although this may vary for smaller trailers.
Maximum Tongue Weight Capacity per Model
Maximum tongue weight capacities vary depending on the trailer dolly model and adapter being used:
- Scout 3K with Ball Mount adapter – 300 lbs
- Force 5K with Ball Mount adapter – 900 lbs
- Force 10Kwith Ball Mount adapter – 900 lbs
- Transformer 15Kwith Ball Mount adapter – 1,000 lbs
- Transformer 15Kwith Fifth Wheel adapter – 3,000 lbs

Using your Parkit360 dolly for a trailer with too much or too little tongue weight could cause some issues while parking:
Too much tongue weight:
- Difficulty moving the dolly
- Wheels digging into firm ground
- Tripping the circuit breaker(s)
Too little tongue weight:
- Trouble moving over small lips and curbs
- Wheels spinning in place, inadequate traction to move the trailer
