Parking on inclines
Our electric trailer dolly models are designed to move on grades up to 4-6%, which covers most common driveway slopes.
Moving your trailer on an incline can alter the total weight applied to the trailer dolly and hitch adapter.
A steep grade can cause a change in tongue weight that may impact traction or unintentionally overload the motor(s), causing the dolly's protective circuit breakers to trip.
Maximum grade % per Model
For parking situations that require you to move on a slope, please operate under the max. recommended grade for your trailer dolly model:
- Scout 3K - 3% grade
- Force 5K & 10K - 6% grade
- Carrier 13K - 4% grade
- Transformer 15K - 4% grade (or 6% if used for a trailer that weighs less than 10,000 lbs.)
If using the EZ Connect Adapter with your Force dolly, we recommend a maximum grade of 3%.

Tools required:
- Straight edge
- Level
- Tape measure
- Calculator
Instructions:
- Lay the straight edge and level parallel with the slope of your driveway, then raise them until they are level.
- Measure from the driveway to the base of the straight edge.
- Take this measurement (height) and divide it by the length of your straight edge, then multiply by 100 to get your percentage.
