Why is my Parkit360 dolly so difficult to turn?

To prevent injury while using our product, Parkit360 electric trailer dollies are designed to eliminate the need to physically push your trailer. That being said, there is still a minimal amount of manual manipulation required.

If you find that you have to push very hard to get the dolly to turn, try a few of these tactics to reduce your physical effort:

  1. Keep it moving! It's much easier to turn the dolly while the trailer is in motion. Start the motor and begin moving the dolly before trying to turn.
  2. Reduce your tongue weight! Your trailer may have too much weight ahead of the axle, causing it to push down on the dolly with more than the recommended weight.
  3. Check the dolly’s tire pressure! Having the right tire pressure for your trailer dolly model reduces surface area contact between the wheels and the ground, allowing for easier steering. For the Force 5K and 10K models, the tire pressure should be a maximum of 60 PSI, Transformer 15K’s should be 90 PSI, and Scout 3K’s should be 30 PSI.
  4. Adjust posture and speed (Only applies to Scout 3K)! Ensure proper posture and push slowly to safely build up and maintain a controllable momentum. The single-wheel design allows for easy turning on a dime while in motion and at rest.
