How should I store my trailer dolly?

Protected From the Elements

Keep your trailer dolly indoors, such as in a garage or shed, especially during long-term storage. While the frame and body are made of durable, powder-coated steel, the internal electronics or battery could become damaged after long-term exposure to rain or snow.

Not able to bring your dolly indoors or under cover? We offer a waterproof Canvas cover exclusively for our Force models.

After Use

Park your electric trailer dolly indoors near a wall outlet, then plug in the battery charger overnight. Batteries should be topped up every few months, but do not leave them plugged in for extended periods of time. If you live in a colder climate, bring the batteries inside during the winter.

Need to Save Space?

Compact models (like our Scout and Force) are small enough to be kept in your trailers' storage compartment or the trunk of a small vehicle, making it possible to bring them along with you on your travels.

Larger dollies like the Transformer and Carrier have a bigger footprint, but there are many convenient ways to store these models using the wireless controller:

  • Transformer 15K - The handle can be removed and the hitch adapter can be left on your trailers' coupler for future use.
  • Carrier 13K - This low profile model can be stored underneath your trailer to save floor space. Simply remove the Drop & Go adapter from the dolly's receiver tube.

Follow all instructions in your manual regarding maintenance and care of your trailer dolly between uses.
